MD DSS

Product Description

The Meridata MD DSS shallow profiling instrument from Finland is used for seismic data acquisition, seabed shallow profiling, and side scan sonar detection.

Meridata Finland is honored to provide geologists, geophysicists, environmental scientists, engineers, and hydrogeologists with:
MD DSSShallow geological profiling instrument!
This system provides a complete solution for the following applications:
Geophysical investigations of rivers, lakes, ports, and nearshore areas
Research on sedimentation, silt deposition, and erosion
Investigation of sediment properties and bottom structure
Comprehensive investigation of earthquakes and depth measurements
Whether your investigation is about bedrock analysis, determining the capacity of various seabed strata, or determining sediment deposition in a watershed, the MD DSS shallow subsurface profiler is an effective tool for data collection, processing, and display.
Sub bottom Profiling, Side Scan Sonar Surveys, Seismic Data Acquisition, Multi Beam Sonar Shallow Profile
Multi mode, wideband operating system
As a true multi-mode sonar system, the MD DSS shallow profiling instrument is not limited to operating on a single frequency based on predetermined sound sources or acoustic methods, but is an application that uses multiple active sonars:
Seismic reflection profiles using air guns, Sparkers, or Boomers above 10 Hz
Software selectable frequency, bandwidth, and pulse window for continuous frequency conversion (Chirp, linear frequency modulation) underwater analysis
Side scan survey from 100 to 1250 kHz frequency
The flexibility of shallow profiling allows you to use appropriate wet end components to generate and utilize almost all acoustic phenomena between the 10 Hz to 40 kHz frequency spectrum. Therefore, the new sonar technology can be easily embedded into your MD DSS shallow profiling instrument.
Describe the characteristics and structures of the seabed
The advanced signal processing and image enhancement techniques of MD DSS shallow profiling instrument can reveal the best details of the internal structure of the seabed. The powerful display capability enables real-time visualization of underwater structures into clear contours during post-processing of tasks.
Store digital data in your computer
No need for a paper recorder. The MD DSS Shallow Stratigraphic Profiler "Black Box" hardware connects to your PC or workstation, allowing you to fully control sonar operations and store all data in hard copy or digital format on the medium of your choice.
The ability to store underwater survey data in digital form is crucial for various studies that require further processing of data and extraction of information.
It is very convenient to process, visualize, and analyze stored survey data.
The same echo sounding data can also be flexibly used in investigations such as geology, limnology, engineering, and hydrology.
Each echo probe has positioning information
Meridata has long-term experience in ocean survey positioning. The MD DSS shallow profiling instrument can provide full support for any commercial navigation system, such as GPS positioning systems, as well as marine sensors for ship motion and attitude compensation.
Each observation object and stratum will be automatically combined with positioning information, allowing you to access, process, and visualize seabed data with complete reference to charts.
Complete integration with GIS
The data from MD DSS shallow profiling instrument can be easily transferred to almost all geographic information systems (GIS) and widely used as geographic reference information throughout your organization.
system configuration
Used for high-resolution seabed profiles and high permeability seismic reflection surveys
1. Electronic components of the transmitter
2. PC/Workstation with Universal Audio Signal Processor
3. Ship borne continuous frequency conversion sound source (transducer)

Additionally, a positioning system (GPS) is required to provide location data. Other sensors such as motion and attitude reference units can be easily integrated into the system to enhance accuracy.
